Mold Allergies are No Joke!

I was having coffee today with Rick Savage, owner of Meditrend/Progena. We’ve been friends for many years and like to get together once in a while over at Starbucks and shoot the breeze a little. We were talking about some of the new products coming down the pipe, including a new alcohol free version of Allergena. As our conversations tend to do, we wandered around some and got on the subject of mold allergies.

I’m not sure why, but for some reason I’ve always been a little suspicious of the whole mold allergy thing. I guess it just seemed like it had always been so hyped in the media. I have followed the headlines on the subject for many months but never felt very convinced it was a big problem. Rick was quick to correct my misconceptions. He told me about a conversation he had with a woman who had called him to let him know that Allergena Zone 6 wasn’t working for her.

As their talk went on, Rick discovered she lived in what we refer to locally as the east mountain area. For those of you who have never visited Albuquerque, the east mountains are a totally different environment than the main part of the city. Unlike the dry, arid conditions here in town, many people on the other side of the mountains actually live right in the forest. Lots of huge pine, and damp, dark conditions just outside the door. It’s very beautiful, but it’s also more suitable for mold growth!

Rick suggested she try Allergena Mold mix in addition to using the Allergena zone 6 she had been taking. She decided to give it a shot. A few weeks later she called him back to thank him, and let him know she was symptom free! I guess I’m going to have to recalibrate my thinking on mold allergies.

A great thing about the Allergena Mold Mix is, unlike regular Allergena which is made for the part of the country where you live, it’s formulated for all the molds that get to you, regardless of where your at. If you think mold could be a culprit in your allergy suffering, give it a try.

My Allergies Made Me Pay the Price for Being Lazy Again!

It seems I’ll never learn, using Allergena requires discipline!

Every spring I go through the same drill. I procrastinate in starting my use of Allergena allergy drops. I guess most of have this problem with various things in our lives. It doesn’t help that the allergy deal is a once a year sort of thing for most of us. I was doing just fine, then the weather got weird. Hot, cold, hot cold, every one and every thing got confused. The city wasn’t even publishing the daily pollen count yet and wham! I was a sneezey mess overnight.

So I started taking my Allergena, but of course, for anyone who has used it knows, it takes a few weeks to start working. So I had to waste some serious cash on the over the counter crap while my body was getting trained by the Allergena. My son was laughing. He and his girl friend had started a few weeks earlier, they were under control… Kind of embarrassing when your kid gets it right and you mess it up!

Correct Dose for Starting Allergena for People Who Are Extra Sensitive to Allergies

Question: Is there a recommended starter dose for people who are pretty sensitive to allergies like me? Are these drops better for someone who’s tried shots but cannot tolerate them well? Thanks.

Answer: You may want to start out at around half the dosage (5 – 7 drops) per day.  If this is well tolerated, slowly increase to the full dosage on the label. Let us know how this approach works for you.
